The Basic Assumptions

This course assumes you have completed all of the eligibility requirements to practice independently. See the list below. 

  • Graduate from an accredited medical school (i.e., obtain a medical school diploma)

  • Pass the national licensing exam (USMLE or COMLEX)

  • Apply for and receive a medical license (MD) in the state you want to practice medicine (for Osteopathic Physicians - National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners)

  • Apply for and obtain a National Provider Identification Number (NPI)

  • Apply for and receive an unrestricted DEA number

  • Proof of passing the board certification exam in your specialty (optional)
